Flyer given out on April 21, 2006"Daddy hugged us very tightly and kissed us"
On that Monday April 17, 2006, spring had returned to Tel Aviv. Nothing could foretell the tragedy that was about to cost nine lives, break up families, wound and traumatize 65 people.
Philippe Belhacen, 45, had decided to take two of his children, Linor (15) and Ori (12), to Tel Aviv to buy them new clothes for Passover. Linor: "When we heard the explosion, Daddy hugged us very tightly. Then he told me to call Mom and tell her there had been a bombing". Soon after, Philippe collapsed. In the ambulance, he said the explosion had hit him. Something had struck him in the heart area and he died even before reaching the hospital.
Philippe saved Linor and Ori by protecting them. He was a terrific Dad, said his daughter Lital (19). "My father never hurt anybody. This is so unfair..." Philippe leaves behind his wife, Eti, and four children.
David Shaoulov, 29, was killed at the moment his nine-months pregnant wife Ludmilla (27) went to the hospital thinking she had started labor. Soon after, the horrible news reached her. Against her doctor's advice, Ludmilla insisted on going to identify the body of her husband and father of her unborn child.
Davids younger brother, Yossi (17) said: "David supported the whole family. I don't know what we're going to do without him now". Aside from his wife and brother, David leaves behind two children: Idan (6) and Karine (4). He also leaves behind his sister, Ziva (24).
Benyamin Hafouta, 47, was the security guard at the restaurant where the bombing occurred. When the terrorist approached, Benyamin became suspicious. That's when the huge explosion shook the whole neighborhood. Benyamin was torn to pieces. But he had managed to stop the terrorist from entering the restaurant and avoided an even greater carnage.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for this collective assassination of Israelis. Khaled Mashal, chief of Hamas, was to the point: "We deny Israel the right to exist no matter what its size or its borders."
Palestinian leaders also reject the concept of a democratic Palestinian State living in peace next to Israel.
When they justify the collective murder of Jews by saying that Israel is occupying Palestine, they're not talking of Gaza and the West Bank. They're talking about all of Israel. One has to be a complete idiot or an anti-semite - or both - not to see that this mass murder is part of an attempt at the genocide of Israel and its people. This is what Hamas means when it speaks of the liberation of Palestine
